Our Story
Big Wood Baseball was born in the stands of a baseball game. I was encouraging a batter on my son’s high school team with the phrase “Choke it and Stroke it”! My words were met with laughter and a lot of attention for sure. Everyone had a good chuckle and the wheels in my head started to turn. I contemplated building a company that offered fun, motivational baseball apparel and high-quality wood bats. After all, baseball is about having fun and playing hard.
What if I took this dream and made it a reality? Being a go-getter and a role model for my children, I decided to take on the challenge. I knew this experience would be a learning lesson regardless. As the saying goes, “we only regret the chances we didn’t take”!
After years of little league, travel ball, high school, and now college games, we have a lifelong love, appreciation, and passion for the game and most importantly the life lessons learned. It’s about the hard work, the dedication, the grit and the grind, the fun, the laughter, the sweat, the tears, the competition, the camaraderie, the successes, the failures, the memories, and especially the players.
From this, Big Wood Baseball was built on the mantra “Having Fun Playing Hard”. These values and life lessons are embedded in our culture and products. When you buy from Big Wood Baseball, you support the game and causes that matter. Shop with purpose and know that a portion of profits support, Athletes for Hope, a foundation that helps youth and young adults facing anxiety disorders along with many other great programs. We also support the Prostate Cancer Foundation, (PCF), which helps those fighting prostate cancer. As a family-owned and operated business, supporting the community and the health of young adults means so much.
We hope you find the collections motivational, supportive, and sometimes give you that same chuckle that Big Wood was born from. Please tell your friends, family, and teammates what we’re doing. Remember, we are here for you, on and off the field.
We appreciate your support!
